History

PCEA Githurai Church was formed in 1960 and was located at Kahawa West quarry. It’s first elders were Mr. Timothy Kihiko(late) and Mr. Waithaka. Mr Kihiko was selected as the lay leader. The first congregation and had only five members whose offering was about Ksh 6.(six shillings) every Sunday. In 1965 the church moved to civilian camp hall No. 2 at Kahawa barracks and the membership was about 15 members. Mr. Stephano Kiarie was the Chairman, Livingstone Kamau as Secretary and Helen Wanjiku as Treasurer. The first deacons were dedicated in 1970 namely N. Wanjiru, Esther Njeri Muloki and R. Wanjiru.

Mission

To bring spiritual empowerment and evangelization based on Christ teaching that will lead to spiritual, economic and social transformation to the men, women, youth and children.
